New York Road Runner’s Marathon Tune Up

in Race Prep
Sunday is the NYRR Marathon Tune Up. 18 miles, which is only three laps of Central Park.In reality, this run is harder than it sounds but is always a phenomenal barometer of my fitness and readiness for the New York City Marathon.

So we’ll see what happens.

I haven’t been in great headspace for training as of late. I’m not sure what it is . . . training burnout? Life? Who knows, but every time I go out these days I can’t seem to get the heavy feeling out of my legs.

I’m hoping it’s as simple as training burnout, I know I can overcome this.

Since I’ve been in such bad headspace, I haven’t really set a goal for the race this weekend. But looking at last year (I did it in 2:30:43 an average of 8:23/mile), I don’t think I’m in the same place, but who knows.

Wish me luck!
