Ever ride your bike on a really hot day? Yeah, me too.

in Running Life

I planned to go on a ride this morning, come back and blog about it and offer some tips for buying your first road bike.

It’s now almost 7PM EST, I got home around 1:30PM and I’m still a little disoriented. My ride today consisted of 63 miles, almost 3,600 feet of vertical elevation while burning roughly 2,100 calories. Temps reached 90 degrees and I drank at least five 20oz bottles of water (with my favorite Nuun tables, of course) on the ride and probably another 60oz since I’ve been home.

Not to get graphic, but I’ve peed once.

ONCE!!!

To say I’m dehydrated is an understatement.

I’m doing what I can to hydrate and eat. I also can’t seem to eat enough. First world problems.

Oh, and I dropped the SD card from my GoPro into the CD slot of my Mac, so I won’t have video or pics from the ride until after my Genius Bar appointment on Sunday.

All this to say the bike tips will have to wait while I eat everything in the house.

Here’s the ride (same time next week with the Friday Hooky Crew).
