Inside The Race: 2018 Queens 10K

in Race Video

I ran the Queens 10K last Saturday.

And as always, I had my GoPro with me.

I edited my video together and sent it off to my buddy Dan to see what he thought.

His reaction was luke warm, he wanted to know why I didn’t make it more like a Vlog, tell a narrative – rather than just what amounts to a b-roll package.

And I was like, you know what Dan, you’re right. I mean, why not use this opportunity to tell my full story on both YouTube and this space? Sometimes those audiences don’t cross over.

But, in order to do this the way I want it, it has to be filmed in realtime. I don’t like switching back and forth to me telling a story from the studio and then showing footage from the race.

So, I’ve decided to delineate when I will be doing a Vlog style race video and when it will be just an insiders view of the race/course.

This is the first video in what I’m going to call, Inside The Race. It’s not about my experience and comes with very little to no commentary – but as in this one, may point out some of the folks I ran with. You’ll see more of these.

Then there will be the Black Toenail Chronicles, that is posts about my general running journey that will now include some Vlog style race videos.

So there you have it Dan, good idea. Thanks!

Here’s what the Queens 10K looked like this year.

Enjoy!
